Review of Cuboid Lite with EXCEED D22 from Joyetech. Colored baby
The famous Chinese manufacturer Joyetech offers us its next new product — Cuboid Lite, a mod with the familiar functionality of “cuboids” and “eviks” and a color display.
Chinese manufacturers seriously decided to conquer us with their devices with large color and/or touch screens, and such a giant of the vaping industry as Joyetech definitely could not stay away. And if the first attempt to turn the old familiar cuboid into a “smartphone” failed miserably, then Cuboid Pro still has to “feel out” the market for the convenience of such a solution and its demand in general. We will definitely get to know the big brother a little later, and today we will take a look at its smaller version, however, without a sensor and slightly modified functionality — Cuboid Lite with a non-serviceable atomizer Exceed D22.
Cuboid Lite packaging
The kit comes to the buyer in a familiar white box (the big brother of the box mod, Cuboid Pro, would fit in it) with the name of the device and a picture of the setup in steel color, Joyetech has not yet learned how to make separate packaging for each color, the real color will have to be found out by the sticker with a barcode on the back. vape parts in new zealand Here you also need to carefully look at the inscription above the picture, Cuboid Lite is supplied both with the D22 atomizer and separately. On the box that came to me there is also a crimson sticker with the inscription Sample – Not for sale, there is no mark on the device itself. The contents are listed on the bottom, the manufacturer’s details are indicated, there is scant information about the maximum power and voltage of the charging current, warning icons and a standard sticker with an originality check.

Depending on the selected configuration, you can find only the “cuboid” itself in the box, or also a new EXCEED D22 atomizer with the corresponding accessories, which we will consider in more detail below. The only “victim” of the cutbacks in the review kit was the instruction manual, in my kit it is in one language – English.
Appearance of the Cuboid Lite with Exceed D22 kit
The CUBOID Lite with EXCEED D22 kit has a classic radio shape: a rectangular box mod and an atomizer shifted to the edge, in this case to the far side from the Fire button. The body of the box and the atomizer are the same color, i.e. the design is harmoniously combined.
Colors of the Cuboid Lite with Exceed D22 from Joyetech
At the time of writing the review, Joyetech produced five color options: silver, black, red, yellow, purple. The last one, purple, came to me for the kit.
Appearance and design of Exceed D22
The EXCEED D22 atomizer is an enlarged version of the recently reviewed EXCEED D19 (or “nine” — a smaller version of this, since our “cuboid” with D22 came out earlier). With the most important difference — an enlarged diameter. The device in my kit is purple, painted in a pleasant iridescent purple color, from the inscriptions on the body there is the logo of the manufacturer Joyetech and the name of the EXCEED atomizer series.
Specifications of Exceed D22
Diameter: 22mm
Height: 25mm (2ml) / 32.5mm (3.5ml)
Colors: silver, black, red, yellow, purple
Weight: 37g
Evaporators: EX with NiCr (nichrome) winding
Volume: 2ml (in accordance with TPD) / 3.5ml
Unlike D19, our atomizer uses a similar, but replaceable standard 510 drip tip. On the lower plane around the connector with a floating pin (rests against the evaporator contact, it cannot be adjusted) there are two standard pictograms and a modest inscription D22. The spot of the positive contact is very small, much smaller than the thread diameter.
Under the lid there are two large tank filling holes; there are sealing o-rings on the connections, which can be replaced with those that are in the package with extras. In fact, the entire device is held on the threads of the evaporator, which connects the base and the upper part.
The atomizer also has a tightening adjustment corresponding to the evaporators; you can adjust the air supply very precisely: from one tiny hole to a fully open wide blowing for free traction. There are holes only on one side, a ring with stoppers in extreme positions, held on a thin silicone o-ring, does not rotate on its own.
The tank comes complete with a replacement glass and a special tube, allowing you to increase the volume of the atomizer from the standard 2 ml to 3.5 ml. The tank is slightly higher, but noticeably more capacious.
Impressions and conclusions
The appearance of the Cuboid Lite next to the 18650 batteryAfter a week of using the Cuboid Lite, some problems emerged, and it is not clear whether they are related to the fact that the device is a test one or not. The very first one surfaced when the box went outside with me in my jacket pocket. The screen simply did not turn on for about a minute, and judging by the backlight glow and the fact that the mod supplied voltage to the winding, the problem was in the screen. A minute later, the image appeared on the display, but in the form of a “crumbled” matrix. “We’re done for!” was the first thought. But no, literally another minute later the image was first weak, then more confident, but it appeared and remained exactly as long as the device was in my hands. After a while, the box went back into my pocket and after a while, the story completely repeated itself. I don’t know if the problem is only with my copy, or if this is a disease of the entire series, but the impression was a little spoiled. When the box mod is warm, there is no such problem, it only appears in the cold, the outside temperature is about 5 ° C. The second problem is related to the slightly lagging interface, not everything works as it should, sometimes the buttons do not immediately respond, the interface slows down. I think that Joyetech will be able to fix this problem by updating the firmware. I did not really like the box’s reaction when the cutoff is triggered: the device turns off completely, it must be woken up by pressing it five times. It is clear that this is a case of caring for the user, but in my opinion, the engineers have overdone it a little.
Berserker MTL RTA (left) and Exceed D22 Otherwise, this is the same familiar board with well-known functionality (even the key combinations have remained the same) and some not particularly necessary features, such as a nicotine counter. The device has never frozen (except for problems with the display), there is an instant response to Fire, fast charging, good battery capacity, a color screen (if you need it), cheerful colors of the box and atomizer. I can’t say anything about the durability of the coating, because I handled the device quite carefully, and there were no chips anywhere during the entire time. I would like to hope that the paint will be durable. The atomizer is no different from the D19, small, but still the choice of two evaporators allows you to choose a puff to your taste. In the EXCEED D22, I didn’t like the change of the head – you have to remove the glass to unscrew the evaporator from the base, it is difficult to grasp with your fingers.
Liked:
Small and convenient box mod
Familiar controls with a new interface
Good battery capacity (for MTL)
Good and simple atomizer for both tight and free traction
Volume 3.5 ml
Fast charging with current up to 2A
Disliked:
Weak screen protection
Glossy panels that get dirty
Freezing screen
Appearance of Cuboid Lite with Exceed D22 from Joyetech in hand
The whole set can be a great gift for a smoker (or rather a smoker), the box mod separately is well suited for MTL tanks, with them the charge of 3000 mAh will be enough for many for the whole day.
