Review of VOOPOO Drag 2 Refresh Edition Kit
In today’s review, we will get acquainted with the updated Drag 2 Refresh Edition box mod from Voopoo and its complete PnP Pod Tank atomizer.
Voopoo Drag 2 Refresh Edition Kit Packaging
The updated Drag 2 comes in almost the same packaging in terms of design as before. In our case, on the front side, in addition to the product logo, there is also an indication that we are dealing with the Refresh Edition.
On the side edges of the package there are links to the manufacturer’s social networks, as well as to the official website. vape richmond The back side carries a list of the delivery set, some warnings and developer data, a code for checking the device for originality and an indication of the color of the device inside. Under the outer yellow and black casing, there is another black box, which contains the culprit of this review and its equipment.

Voopoo Drag 2 Refresh Edition Kit Appearance and Design
The Drag 2 Refresh Edition Kit is currently available in five main colors, which differ only in the pattern and shade of the epoxy resin wall. The body, like the atomizer, can be either black or grayish.
As mentioned earlier, the kit consists of the already familiar Drag 2 battery pack and the PnP Pod Tank atomizer, and the latter is something in between a regular tank and a pod-system cartridge. Let’s start the review with this device, because, by and large, it is the main update in this edition of “Draga”.
Voopoo PnP Pod Tank Atomizer
The lower part of the PnP Pod Tank is made of stainless steel and has a special knurling for more convenient manipulation of the airflow adjustment ring. The latter covers two holes located opposite each other. There is no stopper in the extreme positions – the mechanism rotates in a circle. The upper part, that is, the flask, is made of PCTG plastic.
The connector part of the device is equipped with a standard 510 connection, around which some inscriptions are concentrated, such as certificates and mention of the manufacturer. The device is equipped with a mouthpiece integrated into the flask with a wide internal hole, the diameter of which hints at an exceptionally free tightening.
The flask and the lower metal part discussed above are separated from each other, and this is one of the features of this device. Thus, the cartridge is universal and fits almost all Voopoo devices that use PnP series evaporators. The cartridge is held in its seat by four extremely powerful magnets.
The device comes with two replaceable evaporators on a mesh: PnP-VM6 0.15Ω and PnP-VM5 0.2Ω. The differences between the coils are in the diameter of the winding itself and the recommended output power. The evaporator is installed in its place very simply – by pushing, and the extraction is just as simple. With due skill, this element can be replaced without the risk of getting dirty with liquid.
At the end of the cartridge, next to the magnets, there is one filling hole under the plug. Before filling the tank, you must first insert the evaporator, which is also recommended to be soaked with liquid, and then, already assembled, wait a couple of minutes before vaping directly so that the liquid properly penetrates the cotton.

Voopoo Drag 2 Mod Box Mod
The design and overall construction of the Drag 2 Refresh Edition are no different from the original version. This is the same popular box mod. On the front panel of the device are all the standard controls: the Fire button, display, power adjustment keys and a Micro-USB charging port. The manufacturer, apparently, was too lazy to upgrade its product to a more modern USB Type-C format. On the side there is a pretty nice epoxy resin panel with a stylishly inscribed Voopoo logo.
On the opposite side, you can find another panel, not made of epoxy, but with a remarkable logo of the device. The part of the device that rests against the user’s palm is equipped with two grooves: one for convenient opening of the battery compartment cover, and the other simply complements the first and is decorative. On the end of the box mod there are several ventilation holes and some uninteresting inscriptions.
The massive 510 connector of the device protrudes above the case by about half a millimeter, which will prevent scratches from regularly screwing on the atomizers. The pin inside, of course, is spring-loaded. In addition, the connector pad is equipped with grooves to prevent the atoms from sticking.
The previously mentioned panel with the DRAG inscription is a battery compartment cover, which is held on by four magnets: two on the cover itself and two more in the battery pack. The places for 18650 batteries are equipped with markings of the correct polarity of the batteries, as well as a ribbon for more convenient removal of the batteries. After installing the batteries, the mod automatically turns on.

Voopoo Drag 2 Mod board functionality
Unlike its previous revision, the Refresh edition of the box mod is equipped with an updated GENE.FIT board with slightly reduced functionality, but with adaptation for PnP series evaporators. To turn the box mod on or off, you need to press the Fire button five times as standard, after which a rather large list of chip capabilities will open before the user.
The main screen of the device displays the usual information: the charge of each battery separately, the resistance of the evaporator, the supplied voltage and the duration of the last puff, as well as the selected power. The letter “R” marks the current vaping mode – RBA, allowing you to use the device at a maximum wattage of up to 177 watts.
By pressing the Fire button three times, you can access the vaping mode selection menu, and the first to appear is the temperature control, in which you must first specify the winding material. The screen in TC mode displays the temperature limit in both Fahrenheit and Celsius. It is also possible to adjust the wire coefficient, power and resistance of the coil. To access this functionality, you need to simultaneously hold down the “plus” and “minus” buttons.
At the time of its release, the Drag 2 box mod had three FIT mode options at once: Battery set, Flavor set and Cloud set. In the current version, this functionality has lost one of the three options, but which one exactly – the manufacturer does not report either in the instructions or on the official website, except that information is provided on extending the life of batteries and preventing the winding from burning in the evaporator. It is worth mentioning that the FIT mode works with PnP replaceable coils.
The next item in the main menu is the user presets M1 and M2 for temperature control and variable wattage, with which the user can independently adjust the curve (temperature limit or power) over the entire duration of the puff. For VW, only wattage adjustment is available, and for TC, you can select the winding material and specify the wire coefficient. Activation of the curve setting occurs by simultaneously pressing the “plus” and “minus” buttons.
In addition to the RBA mode indicated at the very beginning, the box mod also has a SMART mode. Its essence lies in the fact that the device automatically selects the output power based on the resistance of the evaporator and does not allow it to rise above the recommended wattage, which is displayed on the screen with a corresponding message. When the SMART mode is selected, you can switch back to RBA by triple-clicking on Fire.
Other features of the board include the ability to change the orientation of the interface (the minus and Fire buttons at the same time), as well as a complete lock (the plus and Fire buttons at the same time).
The device has a battery charging via a Micro-USB connector with a current of up to 2A. When connecting the cable, two icons for each battery are displayed on the screen. Using the same cable and port, you can update the software of the device.
Impressions and conclusions
In summing up, it is worth noting that conceptually the Refresh edition does not bring anything new. This is still the same good old Drag 2 with its minuses and pluses. The entire set can be praised for the delivery set, which includes two evaporators for different powers. The atomizer also pleased with its versatility, taste, and smooth and soft draw. The box mod itself impressed with its appearance and, of course, a fast, productive and functional board. The positive aspects also include the SMART mode – it really simplifies life when you don’t have to worry about any settings. The device will set the required power itself and will not allow it to be exceeded. Foolproof.
There are no negative aspects to either device as such, but there are nuances. So, the box mod, as before, has a backlash in the battery compartment cover. This is not to say that it is very critical, but it is noticeable. Next, we will find fault with the hyped GENE board. Although its functionality has lost some elements, it is still a little overloaded with settings that the average user is unlikely to delve into. Navigation through the interface is also not the most obvious. The FIT mode, which only works with branded evaporators, is also not very useful if you use third-party atomizers, and the vast majority of vapers will wind their own tanks and drippers on the Drag 2.
Pros:
Package
Appearance
Atomizer versatility
Evaporator flavor
Performance
SMART mode
Cons:
Battery compartment cover play
Overloaded board
Interface navigation
